In recent days Microsoft announced the arrival for Bulgaria of one of its most anticipated AI functionalities in the ERP solution Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – Copilot Chat. The smart assistant is now available in the latest online version of the business management software.

What is Copilot Chat for Dynamics 365 Business Central

Copilot Chat is an intelligent assistant aimed at helping the ERP users in their day-to-day work with the business management solution. It boosts efficiency by providing assistance and handling the time-consuming mundane tasks. Copilot Chat is part of the wave of AI solutions launched by Microsoft in all its business software.

How does the AI assistant support users

Copilot ChatCopilot Chat can help users find data in the business management solution faster, generalize and present information in an easily comprehensible way, respond to specific questions regarding the state of the business or the functioning of the ERP system itself and even present users with detailed guidance and step-by-step instructions on working with the software. Some of the tasks Copilot Chat can easily handle are:

  • Find data regarding objects and records related to specific business processes based on natural language prompts such as: “Show me the latest sales order to customer X” or “Do we have availability of product Y with sales price below Y euro?”
  • Organize and help analyze data through summarizing it in groups based on certain criteria or creating calculations such as addition, average value, etc. Examples of such prompts to Copilot Chat are: “Show me a list of customers grouped by their city (or country)“, “Which customers received the most discounts in month X?” or “Group the current records by name and location”.
  • Providing guidelines and step-by-step instructions on questions related to working with the system, such as “Help me find out what field X does?” or “How to post a sales order?”. Copilot Chat always provides the source of the information to guarantee its relevance, accuracy and to give users an option to learn more on the subject.

The presence of the intelligent assistant is a significant relief for Dynamics 365 Business Central users and is especially useful when onboarding new employees who do not yet have experience with the system. At the same time, Microsoft’s strict privacy protocols ensure that your company data does not leave the corporate system.

Copilot Chat currently only supports English, but tests show that it handles commands in Bulgarian quite well. However, Microsoft advises users to be careful with results obtained when working with languages ​​other than English, as their accuracy may not be at the desired level.

Copilot Chat is part of Microsoft’s drive to make its business management solutions even more efficient and user-friendly through the power of artificial intelligence. We expect other AI assistants, such as Sales Order Agent and other smart agents, to further enhance ERP functionality and cement Business Central’s place as the go-to solution for modern business management.
