Scania Bulgaria is the main representative in Bulgaria of Scania – the leading manufacturer of heavy trucks and buses.

SCANIA is an international company presented in more than 100 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and Australia and successfully operating for over 125 years. SCANIA is a leading manufacturer of heavy trucks, buses, industrial and marine engines.

Besides its main business the company also offers wide range of services, related to after-sales service of its products as well as the opportunities for their financing.

In Bulgaria the company is represented by a main distributor, four own and one independent dealers for sales and service.

The need of an ERP solution

In accordance with the requirements of the headquarters in Sweden Scania Bulgaria implemented the ERP software Microsoft Dynamics NAV integrated with Automaster – a system for management of the automobile industry. The implementation project was completed in just 2 months.

The implemented ERP system automates all processes related to accounting, fixed assets and cash flow management, sales and purchases. In 2011 the system was updated to version NAV 2009.

The updated version 2009 gave the company the following additional functionalities:

• Working with a new chart of accounts in accordance with the requirements of the mother-company
• Approval of purchase invoices in accordance with liability limits
• Improved control over company expenses
• Option for automatic distribution of provisions for overdue receivables
• Automation of data submission to Scania Sweden in compliance with corporate standards and consolidation requirements
