Established in 1981, today Alcomet AD is a leading Bulgarian manufacturer of rolled and extruded aluminum products with over 1000 employees and invariably in the Top 100 businesses in Bulgaria.

Over the last 40 years, the company has been successfully developing as one of the largest producers of aluminum rolled metal in the Balkans and is known as a reliable partner in the international and domestic markets.

The modern technological equipment of the three main workshops – foundry, roller and press, together with the application of modern methods of processing aluminum and aluminum alloys, allow the production of a wide range of rolled and extruded products in accordance with the highest European standards.

Challenges to the project for the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV in Alcomet AD

The non-stop technological process (24/7 production cycle) and the special requirements for product traceability were among the main challenges to the Microsoft Dynamics NAV implementation project. The negative experience of Alcomet AD with a previous implementation by another company placed additional responsibility on the shoulders of our team.

Some of the reasons that provoked the need for an adequate ERP solution were:

  • Issues with production planning and ineffective use of the production capacity
  • Delay of some customer orders and surpluses in others
  • Inability to trace and analyze sales

In just 8 months Team VISION Bulgaria managed to successfully implement an integrated business management solution, which covers all processes of sales, purchases, warehouse, logistics, management of finances and production. The ERP system automates all processes connected with management of customer orders, expedition (including integration with mobile devices), production reporting and TCD, management of internal material requests, supply and hedging, management of receivables and payables, finances and accounting.
