Tableau Inc. declared 24 April as New day for Data, announcing three major updates in their product portfolio:

The new Tableau version (the first to be named after the year of its release) comes packed full of new features that Tableau customers have been asking for, including:

 

  • End-to-end authoring in the browser with the ability to connect to data on the web.
  • Dashboard Starters for Tableau Online, available for Salesforce, Eloqua, Marketo and ServiceNow. Starters are prebuilt dashboards based on best practices for specific business applications.
  • Powerful visual analytics capabilities including: Step and Jump lines, the ability to connect to SQL Server spatial data, and additional clustering functionality.

New subscription offerings
